Applying for Financial Aid

We are committed to helping you afford a JAVĿ¼ education. Let's walk through the process step-by-step.

Step 1: File FAFSA

To be considered for federal grants and loans, state grants, or JAVĿ¼ need-based awards, for Summer 2024, Fall 2024, and/or Spring 2025 you must apply to JAVĿ¼, be accepted, and file the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online beginning December 2023.

For Summer 2023, Fall 2023, and/or Spring 2024 file the 2023-24

JAVĿ¼'s Federal School Code is 002821.

Students (and parents, if applicable) will need to  – a username and password combination that you'll use to sign the FAFSA and access certain websites related to your federal financial aid. The 2024-25 FAFSA will require 2022 income information.

The FAFSA priority deadline for undergraduate students is January 15. Graduate students are encouraged to file the FAFSA two months prior to the start of the semester.

Meeting the filing deadlines will assure you are given full consideration for JAVĿ¼ grants and scholarships. If you miss the deadline, it is not too late! File the FAFSA as soon as possible.

Step 2: File TAP Application

Undergraduate New York State residents can also access the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) grant application from the FAFSA confirmation page or at .

JAVĿ¼'s NYS TAP Code is 0735.

Step 3: Receive Financial Aid Award Offer

New Students: The Department of Education has announced a delay in colleges and universities receiving FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) data. This delay impacts the timing of the release of financial aid offers from schools nationwide. At JAVĿ¼, the FAFSA information is a critical piece of our process that determines if any additional need-based institutional funds can be included in a student’s financial aid award offer.

We understand that this delay may be frustrating and may impact the timing of your decision. Please know that our team is working hard to be ready to distribute your financial aid award offer as soon as we receive your information from the Department of Education. When that time comes, we are confident that you will remain interested in choosing JAVĿ¼ for your next chapter, and we can’t wait to welcome you.

Continuing students will be notified via email when they can access their offer via Fish 'R' Net.

Once you've received and reviewed your financial aid offer, contact Student Financial Services with any questions or concerns.
