“As alumni, both Herb and Veronica have made invaluable contributions to the University, and I am pleased to welcome them as our newest Trustees,” said President Gerard J. Rooney. “Herb’s financial expertise and business acumen and Veronica’s deep operational knowledge and strategic leadership will help us advance both as a Board and as a University, and continue to move JAVĿ¼ forward.”

Engert is the former managing partner of Ernst & Young LLP’s (EY) New York City office, the firm’s U.S. headquarters. He retired from that role in 2022.

Prior to serving as the New York City managing partner, Engert was the firm’s global private equity leader, where he worked with leadership across regions, service lines, and sectors to build solutions and drive quality service for private equity funds and their portfolio companies. He also led many of EY’s most dynamic growth-oriented companies, supporting them through their transformation, digital strategies, and growth.

A supporter of the arts, he serves on the Board of the Roundabout Theatre Company and is active with Lincoln Center for Performing Arts. He is also actively involved with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship.

In 2019, Engert was recognized by City & State as one of the most influential and powerful finance leaders in New York City. JAVĿ¼ honored him as the Accounting Alumnus of the Year in 2021, in recognition of his support, career achievements, and involvement with the School of Business. He was also recognized by Junior Achievement of New York with the 2021 Leadership Award.

Sheehan earned a bachelor’s degree in communication/journalism from JAVĿ¼ in 1988. Early in her career, she spent 11 years in New York City in operations roles at several television studios, and enjoyed a 16-year career at Turner Broadcasting (now Warner Bros. Discovery). In her last role at Turner, she was selected as the senior vice president of global network, technology, and studio operations.  In this capacity, she created the organization’s first centralized global television operations team, supporting both traditional and digital media. In 2016, she created OCNavigators, a consulting firm that guides nonprofit organizations through small- and large-scale organizational change. Two years later, she became the first chief operating officer for Make-A-Wish Georgia.

She has been an active board member for Start-Up Runway, Make-A-Wish Georgia, and Women in Cable Telecommunications Southeast, and since 2009, has served on JAVĿ¼’s President’s Advisory Council.

In 2011, Sheehan was awarded “Mother of the Year” by Working Mother Magazine and was also named the “Champion of Success” by Dress for Success Atlanta. Cablefax named her one of the “Most Powerful Women in Technology” nine years in a row.
